Stillwater student William Carroll takes a closer look at an aluminum block he is perfecting with a vertical milling machine in the Product Development and Machining program at Meridian.
The milling process uses rotary motion so that the machine blades are able to shave off slivers of the material with each pass. Carroll is using the machine to ensure that the block edges are perfectly parallel and perpendicular.
